I am an artist working in mixed medium with encaustic being the common element, as it's unique qualities create a visual language of continuity.My work is varied in theme and texture, yet holds a common link of purpose- the expression of my personal emotions. True to facets we all share, some of my work is bold and brightly colored, others are subdued and gentle, and some are dark and contemplative. While there is literal meaning in each of my series, the abstract nature of my work will hopefully invite each viewer to develop their own interpretations.

I was trained as a fine art photographer and ran my own commercial photography studio in San Francisco for over 7 years. I teach encaustic workshops and lecture nationally on encaustic and other topics. I serve as a founding Executive Board member of the non-profit artists group International Encaustic Artists, working as director of the annual Retreat and Conference.
